“Veerkracht” contains seventeen interviews with members of the Dutch Jewish youth movements in the period 1945-1965. The extensive introductory essay, at the beginning of the book, contains quotes from fifty interviews conducted specifically for this study.<\/p>

The book tells a unique and fascinating story. It depicts a generation that converts traumatic experiences during the Holocaust into creative energy. These young people gave a new positive meaning to their lives. Many sooner or later left for Israel. There they contributed substantially to the establishment of the new Jewish state.<\/p>

On February 13, 2020, the book Veerkracht<\/em>\u00a0on the youth movements, 1945-1965 in the Netherlands was launched at Yad Ben Zvi in Jerusalem. The book tells a unique and fascinating story.
